Q McCallum is a researcher and machine learning expert with more than two decades’ industry experience in several verticals.
Through his work he has served as fractional head of AI, where he guided product, hiring, and technology decisions; built and executed on roadmaps that dramatically increased business value; and took clients’ AI/ML ideas from ideation all the way to production. He is also often asked to perform due diligence and evaluate other organizations in startups ranging from edtech, to security, to media.
Q has spoken at leading industry events and holds multiple bylines through O’Reilly Media including Business Models for the Data Economy and Understanding Patterns of Disruption.
His subject matter expertise includes AI-based automation, N-sided marketplaces, and operational risk.
Q holds a BS from the University of Chicago.
